ADAM J. BERNER, J.D., M.A. is a practicing Attorney-Mediator and Conflict Resolution Trainer in the New York City and New Jersey area convenient offices in Manhattan and Teaneck (Bergen County), New Jersey. Having worked in a law firm, specializing in matrimonial and family law, he brings to his mediation practice the experience and familiarity with the law and its alternative processes for resolving disputes. Through his mediation and collaborative legal services, Adam has devoted his professional career to helping individuals and families make better choices in the face of conflict and divorce, leading to more informed, satisfying and cost-effective resolutions.
Adam's practice of mediation is primarily in the areas of family, divorce and workplace disputes and is based on the principles of facilitating parties to work out their own agreements, according to their own values, priorities and schedules. By providing an informal, confidential and collaborative environment, Adam encourages parties to express their own concerns and interests while being receptive to the concerns and interests of the other. With this same philosophy and where mediation is not a viable option for parties, Adam also helps individuals and families separate and divorce through his Collaborative Legal Services.
