How Do I Stop Husband from Purchasing Property?

Question of the Day:

We are currently working on our mediated divorce but my concern is that my husband is looking at foreclosure property for himself. I would imagine that he plans on using our marital savings and or stock to purchase this property. How can I protect this money from being used prior to our final divorce decree being granted. What are my rights concerning this purchase? Is it permissible for him to do so? – Carla

Answer:

Carla: If he uses marital funds to purchase the property then the property is marital. You can try to get an agreement with him regarding this or ask the court to enjoin him.
