How to File for Divorce

Question of the Day:

My husband and I were married for 2 years. I am filing for divorce because and I need to know if I need an attorney to file the papers for me, if not do I just send both copies of the papers to the court and how much will this cost. I am really confused because the kit that I bought is not really clear on this. – Rose

Answer:

Rose: It is best to go to the courthouse and file the papers, because the clerk can tell you what it costs (probably around $100 or so) and whether there are any additional forms to be filed.
