Carrie Cole is a Certified Financial Planner, a Divorce Financial Planner, Family Law Mediator and Collaborative Law Financial Professional. She has been in business since 1987 and has been specializing in divorce since 1994. The purpose of her company, Smart Divorce Planning, is to assist couples or individuals through the divorce—whether you’re just getting started, somewhere in the middle, or at the end. Our goal is to alleviate stress, save time and money and make sure your future is secure.
As a divorce financial planner, we assist in preparing you for divorce (budgets, gathering assets, attorney referrals, long and short term scenarios of the proposed asset split, etc.). We can either strategize with one spouse or work with both to create an equitable settlement. Assets are not just assets. It’s important to make sure you end up with the right ones and that they will last. If you’re in the middle of the divorce process and want a second opinion, call us. Lastly, if everything has been decided, let us help you with the budgeting and the asset repositioning. We’ll help you put it all together so you can get moving forward in a positive direction.
When we work as a divorce mediator, we help couples decide on important issues such as parenting schedules and financial issues (i.e., keeping the house, splitting pension plans, etc.). Our role is neutral and we guide you and your spouse through your decision making.
