The Craig Associates, P.C. law office is led by founding attorney Christopher M. Craig, J.D.. Chris has a comprehensive family law practice and also applies the Collaborative Law approach to a range of legal issues.
His work in Family Law includes all aspects of separation and divorce, including separation of domestic partners, and separation-related issues such as child custody and allocation of assets.
His extensive background in litigation of divorce, custody and other family matters helped to convince him of the value of the "more civilized" Collaborative Law approach.
Collaborative Law is also useful approach in other disputes involving personal relationships, such as doctor/patient, employer/employee, landlord/tenant, neighbor and business partner situations, where the ideal result may include ongoing relationship.
Chris is a leader in the Collaborative Law community in North Carolina. He is Co-founder of the Triad Collaborative Law Association and of Collablaw.org (formerly Collaborative Law Association of Western North Carolina). He trains attorneys in Collaborative Law.
Chris is a graduate of the North Carolina Central University School of Law, a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and member of North Carolina's 18th and 28th Judicial District Bars.
Chris lives in Asheville, North Carolina with his wife and daughter. He is an avid reader of good books, a middling furniture maker and a bicycle enthusiast.
