Van Tine & Associates is a comprehensive, full service law firm with offices in Hingham and in Walpole, Massachusetts. We represent select clients throughout the Commonwealth in many varied causes of action.
Our primary concentration is in working with our clients regarding Divorce/Domestic Relations, Family Advisory Services, and Mediation. Our Attorneys and Mediators
Carolyn Childs Van Tine, is the founder of Van Tine & Associates. She has tried numerous cases and has been certified by the Committee for Public Counsel Services. She has over 13 years of experience representing clients on all aspects of family law.
Before founding Van Tine & Associates, Carolyn Van Tine was an Associate with Nutter, McClennen & Fish, LLP, focusing solely on Family Law/Domestic Relations. She was also an Assistant District Attorney for Plymouth County from 1996-2000.
Ms. Van Tine is a member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Bar Association of Norfolk County, Plymouth County Bar Association and the Bar Association of Western Norfolk County. She is also a member of the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation as well as both the New England and National Chapters of The Association for Conflict Resolution.
She is an author of Tax Aspects of Divorce in Massachusetts (NBI, Inc., 2000).
Carolyn Childs Van Tine received her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University School of Law in 1993. Ms. Van Tine received a B.A. from Rollins College. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. She received her Mediation Training from Divorce Mediation Training Associates.
Laura A. Prensner, is an associate with Van Tine & Associates. Laura received her B.A. degree cum laude from Wellesley College and her Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law in 2005.
Ms. Prensner is certified as a collaborative law attorney and is a member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council, and Boston Bar Association. Prior to joining Van Tine and Associates she was a law clerk for Niemi, Barr & Jerabek, a family law firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and she was also an intern for Judge Regina M. Chu of the Hennepin County Family Justice Center.
She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
Stuart M. Van Tine, is Of Counsel with Van Tine & Associates. Stuart Van Tine received his J.D. from Suffolk University and his B.A. from Harvard University.
