Bennett & Associates is a matrimonial law firm dedicated to representing families in divorce and family law cases through negotiation, mediation and collaborative processes. We seek to provide our clients with sophisticated, discreet and caring representation in the negotiation and settlement of family law matters including, pre-marital agreements, custody and visitation, child and spousal support, alimony and equitable distribution of marital assets.
Our firm excels in the negotiation process. We believe that litigation is costly, both psychologically and financially, for our clients and does not, under most circumstances, form a solid basis for the permanent resolution of domestic problems.
It is our goal to preserve functional familial relationships by crafting custom tailored solutions to difficult issues such as support and custody. By considering every member of the family, as well as using neutral accountants and financial advisors, if appropriate, we can develop plans and make agreements that address the desires and interests of the entire family.
However, if required by the necessities of a particular case, our firm has the capacity for aggressive litigation and has, in the past, for example, established precedent affecting systemic family court reform in Delaware County. We will not allow any of our clients to be exploited.

Elizabeth L. Bennett is an attorney with, and Chairman of Collaborative Family Law Affiliates. She is responsible for bringing the “Collaborative Divorce” process from California to Southeastern Pennsylvania and training professionals in the field.
Ms. Bennett has presided over Bennett & Associates since 1991. She was previously a partner at Dilworth, Paxon, Kalish & Kauffman and an associate at Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young.
Ms. Bennett is a graduate of Villanova University, JD 1977 and Swarthmore College. She also attended San Francisco State College where she was on the Dean’s List. She is listed on the Pennsylvania Honor Roll of Women and in Who’s Who in America.
Memberships include numerous and longstanding positions with the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, Delaware County Bar Association and the Forum of Executive Women.
Ms. Bennett is affiliated with the Women’s Resource Center in Wayne, PA and has been a Board Member for the Penn Council for Relationships and the Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County. Her professional titles and activities from 1973 to present include positions as member, conference chair and Advisory Board member and conference organizer in a multitude of legal, civil and professional areas. She has published extensively since 1985 including “Collaborative Divorce Comes to Pennsylvania” in The Philadelphia Lawyer and has spoken as an expert on many topics on television and radio programs, as well as to professional and educational groups, since 1973. Her topics have included hidden assets and offshore trusts, medical insurance coverage after divorce, pre-nuptial agreements, children’s rights and various divorce taxation issues.
