Denver Divorce Lawyers

A Team Approach

The Law Office of Eric Ruderman has over 30 years of experience in family lawdivorceadoptionpaternitywills and trustsappellate cases, and more.  One thing that sets us apart from other family law firms is that we at the Law Office of Eric Ruderman work very closely together as a team in order to achieve the best possible results for our clients.

Although you will work with one lead attorney who will handle your case, the collective experience of the entire legal team is always put to work for your benefit.  Each attorney at the Law Office of Eric Ruderman adds a unique perspective and approach to the practice of family law.

  • Eric Ruderman:  As the principal partner and founder of the firm, Eric Ruderman has worked in the Colorado family law court system since 1978.  He knows the family court judges, the other Denver divorce lawyers, and uses this familiarity to work effectively within the system to obtain the best possible outcome for his clients.  He has litigated numerous divorce cases, assisted with a number of adoptions, and has served as an advocate for victims of domestic violence.  Eric is especially experienced in cases of marriage dissolution that involve complex property issues and significant assets.
  • Robin Lutz:  A former paralegal with the firm, Robin went on to graduate from law school with highest honors.  She worked briefly in complex civil litigation before returning to the Law Office of Eric Ruderman where she specializes in family law litigation and appellate advocacy.
  • Christine Knight:  Christine served a judicial clerkship at the Colorado Supreme Court before coming to work at the firm, where she specializes in family law matters and estate planning.
  • Skyler:   A valued member of the team, Skyler the Law Dog specializes in napping, eating, and providing support and encouragement to lawyers, staff, and clients alike.

Aggressive Advocacy

Our first step in taking on your case is to listen carefully to your individual situation, expectations, and needs.  We then carefully explore your options with you and let you know what outcome you can reasonably expect to achieve.  We will advise you on what we consider to be your best and most cost effective approach, but the ultimate decision on how to proceed is always yours.

While we believe that mediation, settlement, or other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) are often the best and most cost effective option for our clients, we also take on every case with the understanding that it may go to trial.  We prepare for trial diligently and will pursue your interests aggressively.  With over 30 years of litigation experience, we realize that trial is a battle and we go in prepared to win.

The Bottom Line

The Law Office of Eric Ruderman cares about the bottom line.  To us, that means two things: (1) that you achieve the very best legal and financial settlement of your case possible; and (2) that you come out of the experience with your emotional well being and integrity intact.  We are also strong advocates for children, and will decline representation of clients who persist in using their children as pawns in their divorce.

We realize that achieving a just resolution of divorce, child custody, and post-decree matters can be extremely costly.  We therefore strive to be fair and reasonable in our fees, and carefully discuss your options with you in order to avoid running up unnecessary legal fees.  Toward that end, we use our associate attorneys and support staff whenever possible to minimize our hourly rates.
