About Us
Dr. Birchmeier acquired her Doctorate in Psychology and her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology in California and her B.A. in Education in Switzerland. She has lived in California for the majority of her life and experienced acculturation first hand. After a marriage of 23 years, she and her husband divorced. She was a single parent for ten years and struggled to make ends meet. When her youngest children left the nest, Dr. Birchmeier went back to school and got her Masters and Doctorate, as well as Certification in Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
During the last ten years, Dr. Birchmeier has worked extensively with individuals, families, and adolescents. She treated victims of crime and domestic violence and has tended to physically and mentally frail patients, often helping the families through the Hospice stage.
She built a successful Substance Abuse Treatment Program as their Director and now looks forward to bringing her expertise to her clients as Divorce Consultant. She is an adjunct faculty member at Argosy University where she teaches psychology.
Dr. Birchmeier offers the services she would have needed 18 years ago, when she battled the demons of her own divorce. Now, her sound education and life experience are here to help you travel the journey of your divorce.
