J. Travis Barnett, Esq.

Travis is a general practitioner with experience in personal injury, family law (divorce, custody, and child support), guardianship, wills/probate, criminal defense (including juvenile), landlord/tenant, and civil litigation. Travis has been involved in the criminal justice system for over six years with experience ranging from an investigator with the prosecutor's office, community sentencing, and criminal defense work. He also brings years of experience to his family law practice and understands that with family law, particularly divorce, there are often many facets to the case, not the least of which is the emotional hardship. Therefore, he brings compassion and integrity to his practice in order to provide an easier transition for this trying time in a person’s life.

Military Experience

From 1994 to the present, Travis has served in the United States Army and National Guard as a Forward Observer, holding the rank of Staff Sergeant. He is currently the NCOIC of Detachment 1, 1/160 FA, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has served in the 2nd Armor Division, 4th Infantry Division, 38th Infantry Division (INARNG), and the 45th Separate Enhanced Brigade (OKARNG). From 2003 to 2004, Travis was deployed in support of Operation Noble Eagle III, force protection for Fort Polk, LA. In 2005, Travis was deployed to New Orleans in support of Operation Katrina Relief. This experience gives him a unique perspective as an attorney who understands the military and the issues involved in military divorce.
