Jason K.S. Porter

Jason K. S. Porter, Esquire, is a graduate, cum laude, of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Political Science and Spanish. While in college, Mr. Porter was honored with induction into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa fraternity for academic achievement, as well as the nationally recognized Omicron Delta Kappa fraternity for leadership. Following graduation from Hampden-Sydney College, Mr. Porter enrolled at Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he later earned his law degree.

While in law school, Mr. Porter was active in Moot Court, a competition-based program which teaches students to craft legal arguments and present them persuasively, and advanced to become a Finalist in the Stanley Moot Court competition. Aside from academics, Mr. Porter participated in a more practical, hands-on Clinic which allowed him to represent individuals, free-of-charge, in the courts of North Carolina and to serve as a Certified Legal Intern in the Winston-Salem District Attorney's Office.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Porter moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he accepted a position as an Assistant State Attorney, a prosecuting trial attorney for Duval, Clay and Nassau counties. During Mr. Porter's two years as an Assistant State Attorney, he was responsible for the prosecution of a variety of criminal offenses from the misdemeanor offense of Driving Under the Influence to the felony offense of Murder. Mr. Porter tried a number of jury and non-jury trials as a prosecutor and remains active in the courtroom today. Mr. Porter resigned his position as a prosecutor after two years of service, choosing instead to enter private practice.

Jason K. S. Porter, Esquire, is a member of the Florida Bar, in good standing, and the Jacksonville Bar Association. Mr. Porter is a voting member of the Florida Trial Lawyers Association, the Jacksonville-area Police Council, and Mandarin Presbyterian Church. Mr. Porter, his wife and their three children make their home in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.

Wendy J. Coleman

Wendy J. Coleman is an associate with the Law Office of Jason K. S. Porter, P.A.

In 1995, Ms. Coleman received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Furman University. While in college, Ms. Coleman interned at the Washington, D.C., office of the nationally renowned firm of Fulbright and Jaworski. Between college and law school, Ms. Coleman worked as a legal assistant in Jacksonville, FL for a solo practitioner doing commercial collections. In 1999, she earned her law degree from the University of Florida College of Law. While in law school, Ms. Coleman was a member of the Journal of Law and Public Policy and served on the board of the Journal. Additionally, she clerked for a Gainesville personal injury plaintiff’s firm and participated in the Pro Se Clinic, assisting indigent family law litigants. 

After graduating from law school, Ms. Coleman moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she accepted a position as an Assistant State Attorney. Ms. Coleman prosecuted various crimes and participated in numerous jury and non-jury trials.  In 2000, Ms. Coleman entered private practice and, for six years, focused her practice on civil litigation, primarily insurance defense. 

In 2006, Ms. Coleman joined the Law Office of Jason K.S. Porter, P.A.. In addition to assisting with the handling of criminal defense and personal injury plaintiff's work, Ms. Coleman has focused her practice on family law matters such as dissolutions of marriage (divorce) and spousal support, as well as issues of child custody and child support.
