Mediation takes the fight out of divorce.

Mediation is a better way to get divorced. It was created to help people arrive at good agreements. The alternative, litigated divorce, was created to help people have good trials. If divorces wound up being decided by judges, getting ready for trial would be a good idea. But 99% of divorces are settled, usually just before trial, with cookie cutter solutions that don’t work for lots of people. Mediation results in customized agreements that work for you.

MEDIATION IS THE BETTER, SMARTER, EASIER WAY TO GET DIVORCED. IT:

Hurts Less

  • Reduces damage to children

Costs Less

  • Avoids the horrendous costs of having two lawyers prepare for a trial that will never be held

Goes Faster

  • Usual time frame is 3-8 months, going to court takes 1-3 years or longer

Works Better

  • For simple and for complicated divorces, with children or without

Lasts Longer

  • 50% of conventionally divorced couples end up back in litigation; this happens to less than 4% of the couples who use mediation

Divorce is the middle class catastrophe. The emotional and financial costs can be very high, especially when there are children. Divorcing couples need to reach a set of agreements that allow them to live in different places, get on with their lives, and protect their children in the process. But this requires cooperation when people often feel angry and distrustful. As a result, most couples become adversaries in an expensive and unnecessary legal battle. Along with avoiding the battle, divorce mediation costs less, goes faster, hurts less, and is better for the children.

If you cannot try mediation with us, try it with another qualified mediator.
