Welcome to Fite & O’Brien, Ltd. We are a law firm that was founded in 1986 in McLean, Virginia, and principal attorneys of the firm, Frances Fite and Kathleen O'Brien, have been providing legal services to a diverse client base in Northern Virginia for more than twenty years.
Fite & O'Brien, Ltd. limits its practice to representing clients in family law matters, including divorce, property settlements, custody, Collaborative Law, mediation, premarital agreements, wills and estate planning. We pride ourselves on looking out for the best interests of our clients and providing a high level of personal service and commitment. Our primary goal is to achieve a settlement for each of our client’s family law issues, rather than pursuing litigation. However, in cases where the collaborative family law process is not possible or inappropriate, or in cases where negotiation and/or mediation is not possible or unsuccessful, Fite & O'Brien, Ltd. will pursue a resolution of family law issues through litigation to fully represent our client's interests.
Three of the attorneys at Fite & O'Brien, Ltd. are trained in Collaborative Law, which is an alternative available to parties who wish to settle divorce matters in an open, private, respectful manner. By creating an atmosphere of open communication and cooperation, the Collaborative Law process allows both parties to preserve their dignity while they collaboratively work towards a settlement that is acceptable to each party.
