Personal Statement:
I devote my practice to a number of areas which I find are constantly interrelated. I started the collaborative and mediation areas of my practice after years as a divorce attorney, encountering couples who regretted not working on their marriages when they had the chance. With this in mind, I looked for another way to help. With the expanding legality of postnuptial agreements and the effectiveness of marital mediation and collaboration, I try my best to bring people back together, and make the marriage work. People need to know that there are resources for them.
Fee Structure:
$350 hourly rate for collaborative law, cooperative law, and mediation.
Professional Background:
Tax lawyer, Foley, Hoag and Eliot (1987-1990).
Private practice 1990-present.
Professional Memberships:
Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts
M.L.G.B.A.
Services:
I practice law in the following areas: divorce, marital mediation and collaboration, real estate, tax, bankruptcy, probate of estates, and estate planning. I started my practice as a tax lawyer in a large firm. Fourteen years ago I started my present practice in Coolidge Corner in Brookline. In the real estate portion of my practice, I work closely with Heather Hoffman, Esq., a title lawyer, who is of-counsel to my firm. I never expected to become a divorce lawyer, but accidentally became mentored in this area by a group of colleagues fourteen years ago. I enjoy the divorce part of my practice immensely. I feel that performing divorces provides great utility to people at a difficult time in their lives, and this is very satisfying to me. As my experience in divorce and family law grew, I also expanded my practice to include marital mediation and collaboration, which are effective processes for many couples.
Please see my mediation website for additional information.
