LINDA MARKOWITZ
Linda Markowitz loves both functional and dysfunctional families and finds people endlessly interesting. She is currently in private practice of law concentrating in family and matrimonial law, and wills, trusts and estates. She has received training in Collaborative Law and loves her collaborative law practice.
She taught as an Adjunct Professor of Family Law at Pace Law School for the fall semester of 2004.
She is a past President of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association, a position which she held from June, 1999 to June, 2001. She served the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (“WBASNY”) in many capacities.
She graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, obtained an Masters in the Art of Teaching degree from Manhattanville College, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pace University School of Law in 1989. After graduation from law school she worked for a general practice firm until 1994, when she established her general practice.
In the year 2000 she became a founding partner of Rosenthal & Markowitz, LLP. She is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of New York and the State of Florida, and the State of Connecticut, the United States District Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States .
She is a member of the Law Guardian panel and represents children in Family Court matters. She has also served as a member of the board of the Westchester County Bar Association, and currently serves as a director on the boards of the White Plains YWCA and Surprise Lake Camp. Linda also serves on the Membership Committee and Committee on Minorities in the Profession of the New York State Bar Association.
Linda is very busy from these activities but still finds time for the loves of her life, her grandchildren. She has had many “previous lives” including owning and operating a KOA Kampground in Gardiner, Maine.
Linda loves the practice of law and most of her clients, and still looks forward
to getting up and going to work each day.
