Laurence Alan Wanshel, Esq.
Mr. Laurence Alan Wanshel has been practicing law since 1975 (28 years) with extensive experience in various types of litigation, including commercial civil litigation, business law, personal injury litigation, legal and medical malpractice litigation, criminal law, and administrative law. He has successfully represented physicians and pharmacies against charges of license violation from the Agency of Healthcare Administration. Mr. Wanshel has also been involved in numerous probate estates and probate litigation. He has extensive knowledge in real estate and leasing matters and is regularly involved in real estate and landlord/tenant lawsuits. Some of his clients in these areas include Fidelity National Title Insurance, Surecredit Home Loans USA, Universal Development Inc., Tradezone, American Ambulance, AMC Transportation, American Medical Transportation, and South Florida Dental & Denture Center, just to name a few.
In 1987, he was one of the first attorneys in Florida to obtain a jury verdict in excess of one million dollars in a personal injury case involving the vicarious negligence of a landowner for the intentional and criminal acts of an individual not employed by the company that was held liable for the injuries to his client.
A significant portion of his practice relates to family law, including dissolution of marriage, custody, paternity and support cases, and post-dissolution controversies relating to shared parental responsibility obligations and non-compliance with marital settlement and prenuptial agreements.
Besides being regularly engaged in the litigation of numerous cases, Mr. Wanshel's present practice involves extensive transactional work in real estate, probate, corporation, business, and sophisticated commercial matters. On occasion he accepts criminal defense cases, drawing on his experience that dates back to being with the State Attorney's Office when he first started practicing law.
Mr. Wanshel has engaged in a wide range and variety of cases over the length of his practice. His extensive experience has allowed him to become well-acquainted with the law and an expert in trial and court procedure in the areas of law in which he regularly practices.
