Experienced Palatine, Illinois, Family Law Attorney

Like most people, you probably look for an experienced lawyer when you need legal assistance. In addition to having been an attorney for more than 25 years, I offer my clients the attention and effort they deserve in preparing for their cases.

Extensive Litigation Experience

I have been a trial lawyer for my entire career. Anyone who has been a trial lawyer will tell you that preparation and knowledge of the law are your two greatest weapons in litigation.

Family Law Attorney

Today, much of my practice centers on divorce and divorce-related issues like child custody and visitation rights. My extensive experience in these legal areas should prove to be valuable assets for you. Family law cases, in addition to divorce, may include:

  • Child custody
  • Child support
  • Visitation
  • Alimony
  • Child abuse
  • Neglect
  • Child sexual abuse
  • Grandparents' rights
  • Parental kidnapping

  • Stepparent adoption
  • Orders of protection
  • Domestic violence
  • Division of property
  • Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO)
  • Name changes
  • Paternity
  • Post-divorce modifications
  • Restraining orders
  • Separation agreements

I have handled all of the above family law matters and would be happy to assist you with any of these issues. I also take pride in having been selected as an "Illinois Superlawyer." After a statewide survey of practicing attorneys conducted by Law & Politics, I was named as a Super Lawyer in Family Law in 2005 and 2006, as reported in Chicago Magazine.

Clients tell me that I am prepared, friendly, and helpful in my dealings with them. My opponents know that I am aggressive and forceful as I argue cases for my clients.

I am a proud member of the Virginia, New York, and Illinois Bar Associations, the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, and the Federalist Society.

Practice Area Overview

Many marriages end amicably; some marriages do not. Either way, there are issues that must be resolved before a final divorce decree is granted. Often, having an attorney represent you can help protect your interests.

Dedicated to Family Law

I have chosen to dedicate my practice to family law, centering on legal issues that arise when marriages end. With more than 25 years of experience as a trial attorney and divorce lawyer, I have worked with clients on even the most combative family law and divorce cases. I believe that my experience can assist you.

Family law is a term that encompasses many legal concerns, including divorce, division of marital property, child custody, domestic violence, divorce modifications, visitation, spousal support, paternity, and more. Although I handle all family law matters, there are three that are extremely important to many of my clients:

  • Divorce
  • Child custody
  • Visitation

Protecting Your Parental Rights

Along with simply ending the marriage, most clients are most concerned about where their children will live and how much time they will have with their children after a divorce. Depending on the level of cooperation offered by your spouse, these issues can either be easy or difficult to work out. You have rights that can and should be protected.
