About Our Firm
Gjesdahl Law Office is the only multi-lawyer law firm in the Fargo/Moorhead
area devoted exclusively to family law. We represent husbands, wives, moms,
dads, grandparents and, by court appointment, children, in all family law courts
in North Dakota and Minnesota.
We handle virtually every type of family law case, have tried many cases, and
have an excellent record of success. We will not try a case without thoroughly
exploring prospects for a fair outcome through negotiation. We increase our client's
chances for a positive outcome through in-depth factual investigation and a careful
understanding of applicable law. We strive to keep our clients well-informed,

Michael L. Gjesdahl
Michael L. Gjesdahl is a long-standing resident of Fargo, North Dakota. He attended the University of North Dakota where, in 1982, he obtained a Bachelors of Science in Public Administration and, in 1985, his law degree. He practiced for four years in San Francisco, California, and the Bay area before returning to Fargo to open his own firm.
He is licensed to practice law in North Dakota, Minnesota and California, and is a member of numerous legal organizations. Mr. Gjesdahl is a trained Mediator, Guardian ad Litem and Custody Investigator. He is married, the father of three young children, and active in his church.
