Marcia B. Kraus, CFP, CPA, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst

Marcia came to the field of Divorce Financial Planning after a career in Clinical Psychology. She completed a B.A. and M.A. and most of her doctoral studies in Psychology at the University of Chicago. After working for many years as a school and clinical psychologist, in 1988 she returned to school to obtain an MBA in accounting and finance in order to make the shift into a financial planning practice. She also completed work for the Certified Financial Planner and Certified Public Accountant credentials in 1990. In 1997 she received the Certified Divorce Planner designation (now Certified Divorce Financial Analyst) and also underwent training in Divorce Mediation. She now concentrates her practice on people going through divorce and the many financial decisions which will impact their life after divorce.

Above all, Marcia is a skilled and experienced problem solver and educator whose training and experience in clinical psychology enables her to listen empathically to her clients’ financial concerns and help them acquire the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their financial lives. Though she no longer practices clinical psychology, her background makes her extremely sensitive to the emotions which arise during the life-changing process of divorce and to their impact on the decision-making process. Marcia has taught Individual Tax Planning in DePaul University’s Certificate Program for Financial Planning, has served on the Board of the Oakbrook Council of the Financial Planning Association of Illinois, and is the current President of the Association of Illinois Divorce Financial Professionals and Treasurer of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois.

Marcia invites you to call to set up an initial consultation to determine how she can help you in your divorce process. Call her at 630-753-9895 today.
