Melissa M. Sindeband, Esquire
Melissa concentrates her practice in the field of Family Law, which includes Divorce; Child Support; Child Custody and Visitation; as well as Step-Parent Adoptions. Melissa is a charismatic litigator and serves as the firm's chief litigation partner. Melissa chooses to use her legal talent as an advocate to help empower men and women at a difficult crossroads in their lives in order to bring them closer to financial independence and emotional tranquility.
When working with her clients, Melissa elects to use a "holistic approach." Instead of focusing solely on a client's legal problem, Melissa also pays close attention to the emotional challenges that client and in some cases, their children, face. Melissa also makes a point to ensure her client's health and safety throughout the litigation. For example, if a client appears to be having a difficult time taking care of themselves during the divorce process, Melissa will make a point to find that client a divorce support group in their local area, as well as a financial advisor, therapist, mortgage originator and/or nutritionist (if needed). Melissa recognizes that any attorney has the skills necessary to calculate an equitable property division or support order; yet compassionate understanding and encouraging support can make a real difference for how a client is able to manage the chaos divorce can bring to their life and the lives of those they love. She realizes that, to her clients, handling the emotional stress that often results from a legal dispute is just as important as resolving the dispute itself.
Melissa is originally from Westchester County, New York and came up to Boston to earn her Bachelors Degree in Communications, Politics & Law from Emerson College, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Melissa went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School.
Prior to founding Family Law Practitioners, P.C., Melissa worked as a partner at Curtis & Sindeband, LLP for eight years in a practice devoted exclusively to family law matters. Prior to entering private practice, Melissa worked under Janet Reno in the Violent Crimes Unit of the United States Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C.; as an administrative judicial clerk at the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents; and as a mediator in the Civil Department of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office.
Melissa is licensed to practice law before the state courts of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Her professional association memberships include the Massachusetts Bar Association's Family Law Section and the Essex County Bar Association. Melissa is a regular speaker at Massachusetts Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Seminars as well as a guest on numerous radio programs involving Family Law issues.
Alicia E. Rinaldi, Esquire
Alicia is an associate attorney at Family Law Practitioners, P.C. and is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts. She received her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and graduated from Connecticut College with a B.A. in Government/ International Relations and a minor in Gender Studies. Alicia's interest in practicing family law took root at Connecticut College while she developed and completed an Independent Study entitled Federalism and Domestic Violence Policymaking. Alicia is originally from Northwest Connecticut.

As a holistic family law practitioner, it is a priority for Alicia to try to best serve her clients' legal needs while also being mindful of the impact such litigation may have on a client's emotional, familial, social, and economic well-being.
