Froerer & Miles, P.C. — Ogden, Utah

Froerer & Miles is a well-established law firm of four attorneys founded in 1959 by Robert E. Froerer. We have been serving the everyday legal needs of the community in a wide range of legal practice areas, including family law and divorce. We also practice in other areas, including personal injury (auto accidents, wrongful death, defective products, medical malpractice, slip and fall accidents), estate planning and probate, guardianships and conservatorships, real estate, business organizations and startups, and criminal and DUI / DWI defense. We practice throughout Ogden, Weber County, and all of northern Utah.

Ever since the firm was founded in 1959, we have maintained solid relationships with our clients, the courts, and other professionals in the community. We are dedicated to improving the lives of our clients and the community in which we live and work. We are active in various community organizations and boards, including the Rotary Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Boy Scouts.

We are honest, hard-working attorneys who see ourselves not just as attorneys but as counselors to our clients. We do our best to help our clients resolve their legal disputes in an amicable way. We help them see the strengths and weaknesses of their case before heading to court. If we can’t resolve their case short of going to trial, we are ready, willing and able to litigate on their behalf.

At our firm, communication with our clients is extremely important. We believe that providing dependable personal attention to each client is crucial. It is our policy to return any calls we miss within twenty-four hours. We know that our clients appreciate the service and attention we provide to them and their case because we receive a substantial number of referrals from them.

Family Law and Divorce

At Froerer & Miles, we believe that honesty is the best policy, that integrity isn’t something that can be replaced, and that every client — large or small — has the right to accessible and responsive personal service, and…someone they can depend on, not just as a lawyer but as a counselor as well. We also believe this approach is never more important than it is with our family law clients.

Talking to someone with a fresh perspective, before filing for divorce, may be the best thing you can do for your family and yourself.

Our lawyers devote a fair amount of time finding solutions to our clients’ family law problems. In happier instances this means facilitating successful adoptions, but more often than not, divorce is what is on the minds of people who seek us out. In our experience, what many couples and families need is counseling rather than divorce. We believe that most marriages are worth saving and, if appropriate, we encourage our clients to try to work it out.

However, if legal separation or divorce is the best option, we go to great lengths to help our clients achieve their objectives. We also try to impress upon our clients that their children are better served if they are not caught up in the conflict they have with their spouse.

We are very experienced in dealing with divorce cases involving marital property issues, including complex business and asset valuation. We also handle custody and visitation issues. Other issues that often arise during a divorce include child support, alimony (spousal support), domestic violence, and protective orders. We also assist our clients with post-divorce issues such as contempt and modification of child support, visitation, and custody.

We often encourage our clients going through a divorce to participate in mediation to attempt to come to an agreement, rather than letting a judge make decisions that will have a long-lasting impact on their lives. Mediation offers much more control over the outcome and often helps minimize the financial and emotional impact of a divorce. While we focus our efforts on resolving matters amicably, we pursue matters zealously on behalf of our clients and will go to trial if that is the best method to achieve our clients’ objectives.
