Question:

I just found out my wife has been cheating for three out of the four years we've been married. Does her adultery give me any advantages in court with regards to property division and custody of our two children? – Aaron

Answer:

Aaron: In Maryland, "circumstances surrounding the estrangement of the parties" is one of the factors the judge must consider in determining property division and alimony.  It may be considered in custody, but marital fault is not usually equated with flawed parenting.
