Question:

My ex husband and girlfriend have lived together for about 3 years. Does she have any rights to our daughter and do I have to by law deal with her or just my ex husband? And should I go back to the courts for child support reevaluation since he now has another income and has been buying more properties? – Private

Answer:

Your ex’s girlfriend has no custody or visitation rights by law, but as a practical matter, she is probably going to be present during your daughter’s visitation with your ex, so it may be hard to avoid dealing with her.  The court can modify child support in the event of a change in circumstances.
