Question:

I filed for annulment and/or divorce (if judge wouldn't agree to the annulment then I would take the divorce). My husband wrote to the court contesting the petition for divorce. All his points were false.

I felt the judge didn't even look at my paperwork properly because there was proof of serving him with the papers which he claimed he was never served. From reading the judges reasons, I realized the judge did not go through my petition at all; she just read my husbands reasons for not wanting the divorce and dismissed my case. What's my next step? -- FC

Answer:

FC: If you are trying to do this by yourself, I think you ought to take your papers to a divorce attorney and have him or her explain what you need to do to refile and fix whatever caused the judge to dismiss the case.
